Harry Koster, M.D.

Dr. Harry Robert Koster, a Swiss-American Board-Certified ophthalmologist, has been in practice for 10 years. Dr. Koster received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University in biochemistry and his medical degree from The University of Texas at Dallas. In addition to being a Merit Scholar (awarded to top 5% of class), he is a Southwestern Medical Foundation Academic and Alpha Omega Alpha Society Member. He completed his internship at New York Hospital/Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital, Cornell University, and completed his residency at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. He also holds the distinction of being a Cornea Fellow at the prestigious Hotel-Dieu in Paris, France, followed by a year of fellowship at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard University.

Dr. Koster has published numerous clinical articles and lectures extensively in the United States and abroad. A Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, he is also a distinguished member of the New York Eye Bank, the International Society of Refractive Keratoplasty, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.

Dr. Koster has been at the forefront of LASIK and laser vision correction technology since the early nineties. While a fellow in Paris, he performed many refractive surgery procedures that were only approved in the United States years later. Currently he is also a medical consultant to companies devising new ways to map out corneal topography.

When Dr. Koster is not treating his patients, he enjoys a run in the park. In fact, he has completed the New York City Marathon nine times. Other hobbies include enjoying New York at a slower pace, visiting modern art galleries and old movies.
